Terms of service

Who we are

Valouré Studios ("we", "the studio") makes brand films, edits, colour, sound design, graphic and thumbnail design, and original music. These terms apply to every project, call and payment made with us or through this site. You, the person or business we work for, are "the client".

Starting a project

• Every project starts with a written scope: what we will make, the deliverables, the timeline and the price. Our quote or invoice is that scope.
• A project, or a session, is confirmed when you accept the scope and pay the advance. Dates are held only once the advance is received.

Payment

• A 50% advance of the project fee is paid before any work begins.
• The remaining 50% is due when you approve the work, before the final files are delivered at full quality. Until then, previews may be watermarked or at a lower resolution.
• Products and fixed-price services on the payment page are paid in full when bought.
• Payments are made through Razorpay. Taxes such as GST are shown on the invoice.
• Invoices are due by the date shown on them. Late payment pauses the work and moves the delivery date.

Revisions

• Two revision rounds are included free, counted from the moment the project or session is confirmed.
• A revision is a change within the confirmed scope: trimming, reordering, adjusting colour or sound, changing text, swapping a shot for another from the material we already have.
• Work outside the confirmed scope is charged, even during the two free rounds: a new direction or concept, a new script, new footage or a new shoot, a different length or format, more deliverables, or redoing a stage you already approved.
• Rounds beyond the two free ones are charged at our current rate.
• Before any paid extra work, we tell you what it costs. It starts once you agree in writing and, for larger changes, pay for it in advance.
• Send all changes for a round together, in one list. Notes sent piece by piece may count as more than one round.

Your materials

• You confirm that you own, or have the right to use, everything you send us: footage, music, logos, fonts, photos and text. You are responsible for it.
• We keep project files for 90 days after delivery, then may delete them.

Delivery and ownership

• Once the project is paid in full, you may use the final deliverables for the purposes in the scope. Until then, all the work remains ours.
• Raw footage, project files and stems are not part of the deliverables unless the scope says so.
• Original music is licensed as the scope states. Stock and licensed material follows its own licence.
• We may show the finished work in our portfolio and on social media, unless you ask us in writing not to before the project starts.

Timelines

Timelines depend on your feedback and materials arriving on time. When they arrive late, delivery moves with them. A project with no reply from you for 30 days may be closed, and the work done so far is charged.

Cancellations and refunds

• If you cancel before work begins, we refund the advance in full.
• Once work has begun, the advance is not refunded. Work done beyond what the advance covers is charged.
• If we cannot complete a project for reasons on our side, we refund what you paid for the part not delivered.
• Refunds go back to the original payment method within 7 working days of approval. Your bank may take a few days more.
• To move or cancel a call, use the links in its confirmation email, or write to us.

Liability

Our total liability for a project is limited to what you paid for it. We are not responsible for indirect losses, or for how the work is used after delivery.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. A project follows the terms in force when it was confirmed.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If we disagree, we first try to settle it in good faith; if that fails, the courts of India decide.
